#ORInsightLab: Men's Jinx S/S Shirt Review

The Outdoor Reseach Men's Jinx S/S shirt!

My first review for Outdoor Research's #ORInsightLab program is here!  But first, a little bit about the #ORInsightLab program and what I'll be doing with it.  Outdoor Research has chosen me to review some of their clothing/gear and to post my honest opinions about their products through social media via the hash tag #ORInsightLab.  So if you're on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, search for the hash tag and you'll find our group of outdoor adventurers putting their product line to the test out on the rocks and trails.

The first review will be on on men's Jinx S/S shirt.  When taking it out of the box I thought this shirt was too nice to wear while climbing.  I had never climbed in a button down shirt before but I have a lot of friends who do.  There is a first time for everything, right?  I can keep an open mind.  The shirt fabric was very light weight, soft, and thin, but not so thin as to be transparent.  I was very excited to give this shirt a try while getting on the sharp end of a rope on some sport routes.  The first place I took it to was one of my favorite sport climbing crags in the northeast, Farley, MA.

The Jinx S/S shirt is very comfortably light and stylishly cool.  On a humid and warm summer weekend here in the northeast, ventilation and quick drying is a must!  Although I really dug the shirt's performance, a couple of minor tweaks to it would make it perfect.  I felt like the button line and collar could have a little more stiffness (thicker fabric) without affecting the weight/ventilation properties of the shirt.  These were hard to keep folded properly after washing, but did not affect the overall performance and feel.  It gave me the 'just-rolled-out-of-bed' look though and allowed me to fit in with most of the other climbers.

In all seriousness though, the shirt performed well and had great ventilation.  This will definitely be a shirt I wear often both at the crag and around the campfires drinking some brews with my friends.

The products reviewed in this program were given to me by Outdoor Research in exchange for honest reviews and feedback.  Any and all positive opinions presented by me in the program are my own and were not required to receive products.
